Making time to quilt and sew!!! I'm at a Snails pace!

I haven’t had any time to quilt this week, I’m trying to get back into the swing of getting to bed early and waking with an alarm! Hopefully this weekend I will be able to spend some time in my sewing room.

Last week I started cutting out the pieces for my Paparazzi Snail Tail quilt. It is using a number of Red Rooster Paparazzi prints! The fabric is prefect for this quilt, it has my favorite colors Scarlet/Gray/Black/White. I designed the quilt in EQ7 and then uploaded the fabric swatches. I’m using the Marti Michel Set B templates to help perfect my piecing.

The border and fabric placement is not firmed up yet.

I also found this pattern on Generations Quilt Patterns Facebook page.  It really caught my eye!!

So many quilts to make and so little time!!

March Unfinished Object(UFO)

No progress on the assigned UFO for March!

I didn’t even go looking for the Bargello Jacket! I keep telling myself I will be losing weight and I don’t want to make a jacket I will only wear a short time.

April’s UFO number is #10 and that is the Checkerboard Star quilt top that I tested for The Quilt Pattern Magazine. I will be sending that down to Jennifer to quilt this month.

View from my Cube!!!

I started my new job at Buyers Products Company in Mentor on Monday. I have an 8’ x 8’ cube with plenty of work surface.

I have brought in a few Buckeye items for my desk and will be bringing in my digital photo frame next week so I can remind myself why I’m working.

If I rotate my chair I can see trees and sky!!

I’m located on the 2nd floor, or the Mezzanine level. No elevator so I will be walking up 20 steps every morning!! The rest of the IT department is located on the 1st floor, so I see myself walking up and down a few times a day.
I toured 3 of our locations/warehouses and wished I had brought my pedometer! Manufacturing is actually happening in Northeastern Ohio. I was surprised to see that powder coating of metal was done by hand? The machines laser cutting the metal were impressive. The number of items that are manufactured and sold by Buyers is over ten thousand. My responsibility as the Product Data Specialist will be organizing the information to assist the employees and customers.

They make parts and equipment for trucks.

It took me a couple days to get a computer but now I'm able to browse the applications and start to get familiar with the data.
