Ohio State Football vs. That Team From Up North Week!!!

Yes, I realize that it is Thanksgiving Week, which means cleaning the house
and preparing the Turkey and all the fixings!!  Spending time with family and friends and being thankful for everything we have!!

It also means changing out the front door quilts for at least one day!!

But at the same time we(the alumni and fans) are so excited that the Ohio State Buckeyes are 11-0 and are the winners of the Leaders Division of the Big Ten, in a season that no one really cares what we do!! Go Buckeyes!!

Now we just have one more game on Saturday at Noon to finish off a great season!!

How will our Defense play against TTFUN's new quarterback and Denard Robinson?  That question will be answered on Saturday.

I will be eating, drinking, performing Script Ohio and enjoying the game at the annual party in Ohio City.

Speaking of eating, I need to make Chili for the Cook Off competition.  I won second place a couple of years ago and really want that trophy!!!

I'm wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and Go Buckeyes!!!!

From Marti and Me Club November 2012

Attended the From Marti and Me Club meeting at Cottonpickers Quilt Shop in Chardon, Ohio this morning.

Our attendance was light because of illness and grandchildren!!  Hope you feel better soon Marge!!  And Jenny we hope you had a geat time with kids!!

We always start with show and tell.

Marge showed us this Wool Applecore table runner that she made for under caseroles.

Nancy showed us her hexagon quilt.

Cathy brought this quilt that she made for her granddaughter.  Which is an example of one of the quilts we will be discussing in class.

Our instructor Gayle is great at sharing ideas of how to use the patterns that Marti Michell has designed for us.

This is the Hexagon Pinwheel that Gayle made for the class sample.

I think this may be the project I start after the holidays.

Thanks Gayle for a great class!!!

Feathered Peacock Star quilt top is done!!!

I finished sewing the and removing the paper from my Judy and Brad Niemeyer Feathered Star quilt top last weekend.
Then this past week I worked on pressing the quilt top and piecing the backing.

Today I visited the Cottonpickers Quilt Shop and put the quilt top on the design wall.

Close up of the center.

Becky of Ruby Blue Quilting Studio will be quilting this wall hanging in the next few weeks.

I can't wait to get it back and finish it for entering it into the Lake Farm Parks 2013 Quilt Show.
