An evening with Patricia Knoechel

Pat is Eleanor Burn's sister and she travels sharing quilts and patterns from the Quilt In A Day company.  This is the third time I have listened to her and each time I come away inspired to make a beautiful quilt.

Prior to Eleanor re-releasing her Radiant Star book, Pat suggested using a border print in the corner squares and side triangles.  Doesn't that look cool!

This is a LoneStar Quilt that I completed a number of years ago.  I need to get this one quilted.

I really like this pattern with the exta stars in the corners.

And this one is called Sassy Stars and uses the small stars!!

The other pattern I bought was this one it's called Stars and Crosses.

Attended a presentation by Patricia Knoechel Friday night

Pat is Eleanor Burns' sister and she has been promoting Quilt in a Day products for 25 years!!

She talked for a couple hours about two of Eleanor's books and showed the quilts that she made using both of these books.

Quilt Blocks on American Barns

Orion's Star Quilt

The quilts she showed us were fantastic!!  We got to she her Lavendar Hill Farm quilt from page 8 of the Quilt Blocks on American Barns and the American Barns 6" block wallhanging based on Eleanor's quilt which is on the cover of the book.  She walked us through how easy it is to make a Flying Kite block and the Bank Barn block.

Then she showed us how easy it is to make Flying Geese using the Quilt in a Day rulers.  Flying geese units are used in a number of the quilt blocks and the Orion's Star Quilt blocks.

Pat very graciously signed our books on page 8 near her Lavendar Hill Farm quilt.

Eleanor Burns Quilts on American Barns Block 1

Just finished watching Eleanor put together the 18 inch Center Barn Block  http://quiltinaday.com/theater/block/block01.html  It went together pretty easy.

I will be seeing her sister Patricia Knoechel June 4th at the Ashtabula Nazarene Church and that will be my chance to purchase the book and necessary templates and accessories.

This quilt will be an opportunity to use up stash and scraps.  I'm planning to do the wall hanging size which has 6 inch blocks in it.
