Garfield is avoiding the Holiday shipping rush!!

It's the holiday season in the Gerber household and with all the packages coming and going, Garfield has decided to take this opportunity
to try and ship Nermal to Abu Dhabi!! (Again)

Thanks to Terri, Garfield came to live with us 6 years ago, and wasn't he cute!

He has become a big part of this family, literally!!

He is a big boy!!
He is Jim's buddy and not a lap cat!!

When I was laid off in 2009, I needed someone to keep me company
when Jim was at work.
Terri, Cassandra and Richelle found this little guy at the intersection of our road.

Bill said NO to more cats!!  Jim said NO also, but he changed his mind!
Terri said we had to name him Nermal,
the "cutest kitten in the whole world" and Garfield's nemesis.

Nermal has helped on many of my quilting projects.

But at times Garfield and Nermal just don't get along!

So Garfield packed Nermal up for a trip to Abu Dhabi!!

Garfield looks kind of relaxed about the whole situation!!!

So I rescued Nermal and decided to send Jim to New York instead!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Jim, Darlene, Garfield and Nermal !!

Christmas is a Cakewalk and Vote!

I have enterd my Cakewalk quilt in the Quilting Gallery's Christmas Quilts contest.  You have the weekend to vote for up to 7 of your favorite quilts!

This is a pattern I tested for Barbara Chojnacki of Six Gables Designs back in the spring. The majority of the fabric is Robert Kaufman Holiday Flourish 3 by Peggy Toole. It's beautiful holiday fabric with gold embossing to give it a very rich look!!

I used EQ7 to help me to decide the fabric choices.

And Garfield tested it for softness!!

Halloween Kittens

A couple of weeks ago I found this Halloween Kittens fabric at Keepsake Quilting from Hoffman Fabrics.

I have never been a big Halloween fan, but this fabric just was so cute!!

I sent a picture to my Mom and see decided she wanted a couple pillows for her 70th Birthday.

Nermal is helping me press Grandma's pillow top!!

There faces and customes are just so cute!!!  Nermal and Garfield sure have a little devil inside of them!

And check out this little witch!!
If you look close you can see the spiderweb motif I designed for the machine quilting.

Nermal decided to cozy up with these cute kitties!

The pillows are 14" and I think the orange and brown work well with the fabric.

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Check out my Stars and Stripes Allover Quilt and Vote!!!

I have entered my Stars and Stripes Allover quilt in this weekends Quilting Gallery Vote now for Patriotic Quilts competition.  Please go to the link and view all the beautiful quilts and vote!!  You have to scroll down the page a little ways to see the quilts and then vote at the bottom.

My quilt is inspired by a quilt called Stars Galore by Sally Murray which is published in the Quilts on American Barns book by Eleanor Burns. It is a 4 x 4 quilt and has 2 different blocks. It also has a ribbon border. This was the first quilt I designed using EQ7.

Garfield likes this quilt also!!
